NEW Zone Cross Country Course in 2024:
- The Cross Country Course has unergone significant change in 2024.
- The new course is more streamline and simpler for compeditors to remember and follow
- Is more safe by the removal of many narrow and historically slippery areas, as well as steps which that have eroded over the years.
- Once the new map is finalised it will be posted here and communicated to all schools.
- In saying this, the map may still change without notice on the morning of the carnival for safety reasons.
- This is why it is vitally important for all students to be present to walk the course at 10:30am
- The planned course map is shown below

How the Champion School/Handicap School and Team Point Score is calculated:
Each compeditor receives a place card when they finish their race, this is the points their school recieves.
Points are given to a maximum of 5 compeditoirs, with a maximum of 105 points
Students who gain qualifcation to the Carnival as a Special Entry do not receive points for their school.
If a school has fewer then 5 compeditors or fewer than 5 finish they receive 105 points for those places.
Champion School is awarded to the school with the highest total points overall from the carnival.
Handicap Champion School is calculated on total points overall multiplied by the school's 3-6 Enrolment Numbers, lowest score overall is the Handicap Champion School.
Team Point Score is an team award for each race - 8 of these banners are awarded:
Each school's lowest 4 scores are added together to determine the team score.
Schools who do not have 4 runners entered or finish the race will be awarded maximum points for each position: 105 points
The Champion Team Point Score is the lowest combined individual 4 scores from all schools per event.
