Zone Trial
Australian Football (AFL)

2023 Zone Australian Football Convenor: 

• Ethan Formby, Epping PS - 9876 1452 

The Zone Convenor is asking for Nominations through schools for boys & girls in year 5 or 6 who: 

• Play Aussie Rules on the weekends at a division one or academy level and/or

• Play a different sport but have shown a high level of AFL skills during school competitions such as Paul Kelly Cup

• Possess a high level of skills and understanding of Aussie Rules.

Please note, selection is for ONE team only, Girls can trial and be selected but there is no designated Girls Team.

There may not be a Zone Trial if students nominated do not exceede the number we can send to Sydney North. Nominated students will be kept in the loop with this.

AFL Trial

Date:  28/2/23

Venue: Rofe Park Hornsby Heights

Time: 9am-2:30pm

Cost:  $5

Pathway to be selected in the Sydney North Team:

1. 1. 1. 1. Nominations must be through your school sport coordinator

         2. Beecroft/Ryde Combined Zone Selection -  NOT NEEDED

         3. Sydney North Selection Trial -

Successfully Nominated Students:

•  will receive a Trial Permission Note from their school sport coordainator.

  • • This Zone Trial Note must be presented to the convenor at the trial fully filled out and signed by:

      • • • Sports Coordinator

          • Principal

    • No note, no trial.

Additional Information from the convenor:

• Please note 18 students will be selected to represent a combined Beecroft/Ryde Zone Team to go to the  Sydney North AFL Trials. 

• Students must wear 

  • • Suitable clothing for an AFL Trial

    • a mouth-guard

    • Footwear is compulsory, boots are allowed

• All parents need to sign in the visitor book at the office.
