In East Lothian, we have collaborated as senior leaders and practitioners to establish shared expectations for high quality learning and teaching across our schools in line with our East Lothian Values of Enable, Lead and Care.
We have organised these expectations into 3 placemats and these have developed into the sails of a boat to reflect the coastal nature of East Lothian. The 3 sails are Learning (Enable), Leadership (Lead) and Relationships (Care).
Each statement within the sails is precise but not prescriptive and illustrates ‘the why’ to ensure the outcome is clear.
