Game Jam 2026

The Theme for the Game Jam 2026 is Free Choice! Following feedback gathered from last year's cohort, the biggest request was that learners were not restricted with a specific theme. Therefore, this year we will allow learners to create any game they wish, inspired by games they love, play and feel inspired by.

We have also included a design brief this year to help with planning a vision. We encourage learners to build their games from week one following each lesson.

Before you embark on Game Jam 2026, why not spend some time 'playing' last years entries to the competition. This might give you the inspiration you need to get started or stimulate some ideas.

Asset Library

This year we have added some additional assets that can help gamers with their designs. From backgrounds and characters to music and sprites these folders host over 1000 assets that you can choose from. Feel free to explore these before getting started with your games and save as many as you like to your own personal Google Drive. Click on the link (left) to check these out.
