World Refugee Day
This assembly looks at World Refugee Day and the varied reasons children and families may become refugees.
Gypsy Roma and Traveller History Month
The month of June is Gypsy, Roma and Traveller History Month. The theme for the month is 'What does family mean to you?' In this assembly we will explore different types of families and what makes them special.
The Right for you to know your Rights
This assembly will look at Article 42 and how governments have a responsibility for everyone to know about Children's Rights. We will explore the adults who have a duty to uphold Children's Rights, who are called Duty Bearers.
Mental Health Awareness Week
In this assembly we will explore what we need to have good mental health. We will look at being able to 'read' peoples faces and body language so we might know how they feel. This might help us to know how to support people. We will be reminded of the Zones - green, yellow, blue and red.
The Right to Life, Survival and Development
In this assembly we will explore Article 6: The right to life, survival and development. We will be able to identify our wants and needs and how getting our needs met means we can survive and thrive.
Right to Law and Justice
This assembly will look at the rights children have if they've been accused of breaking the law. It will help us to think about the difference between punishments and consequences.
World Water Day
22nd March is World Water day. Find out about water becoming more scarce through droughts or more destructive through floods and how its impacting communities around the world.
Red Nose Day
Think about you have your voice heard and how your voice can be a positive influence on your school, community and the world!
International Woman's Day
Find out about some extraordinary women and the impact they have had on the world while exploring International Women's Day.

February is LGBT History Month. This month we are celebrating people's differences and making sure the everyone thinks about Article 2: No Discrimination.
Safer Internet Day
7th February is Safer Internet Day, when we should think about keeping ourselves safe online. Explore some of the ways technology companies persuade you to stay online, and think of ways to enjoy spending time offline too.
Holocaust Memorial Day
We will look at Articles 2, 19, 37 + 38 which helps remember why we have 'No Discrimination' as a right.
International Human Rights Day
Explore Articles 4+41 which helps us think about Human Rights Day. Find out how Human Rights began, and where your Rights as a child fit in.
International Day of Person's with Disabilities
Articles 2 and 23 help us to think about people with disabilities and how there should be no discrimination.

World Food Day
World Food Day is on 16th October. On this day we should think about where our food comes from, how some people live in food poverty, and how we can stop food waste. Article 6+24 can help us to think about this.

Black History Month lasts for the month of October. We can use Articles 2+30 to think about discrimination and how we can act to make the world a fairer place.

This assembly is based around Article 39 'Recovery and Reintegration'.
Conversations about the support needed to recover from the trauma of neglect, abuse, exploitation, or torture have to be treated with the utmost sensitivity in class, and it's at your discretion how you approach it with your learners.
It's recommended that you consider what your learners may bring with them into these discussions and have appropriate support and safeguards in place. Please view all materials before sharing with your class.
