By the end of this week, students should have revised their myths using the revision checklist.
General Knowledge
The students will be introduced to the idea of show, not tell and how it can be used in their myths.
Myth Revision Checklist:
All stages from your planner are included
Show, not tell
Using Senses to Describe Places
Emotions
Slow Down and Describe Action
Record Important Dialogue
Concrete sentences
Not too many sensory details (what you see, hear, taste, etc.)
I have included 3 myth characteristics
Clear beginning, middle, and end
Leading up to the climax (the ordeal)
Including elements of mythology
Good title that makes sense for your story
I have grouped the stages successfully into paragraphs
Word choice
Students will revise their texts on paper with a pen. Their conferring partner will also be tasked with being able to distinguish between the different stages of the hero's journey within their myths.
