**Enhancements In Progress** To improve the user experience and site functionality, some embedded documents are being updated to linked buttons.
Focus School Software has a handheld device that is similar to a smartphone with a printer attached. The handheld device allows you to access the Focus app anywhere you go on campus. Enter student tardies and print tardy passes and detention slips directly from the handheld device. You can also view student information, view emergency contact information, view student schedules, and take attendance.
Note: The printer paper requirements for the handheld are 2 1/4" x 55'. (The longer paper role of 85' can only be used in the "Kiosk" device and is too long to fit in the handheld.)
Take some time and browse the resources below.
If you are new to using the handheld, take a look at the "General Use" items 1 to 4. It is important to remember to setup the lock screen on the handheld device for security since this device is logged into Focus as yourself.
Note: These devices are not available for purchase at this time. This documentation is for schools that already own a handheld device.
For devices received prior to August 1, 2019, following the Version 1 guides. For devices received between August 1, 2019 and June 1, 2024, follow the Version 2 guides. For devices received after June 1, 2024, follow the Version 3 guides.
*Most devices will fall under the Version 2 Guides.*
Important Note: When using the handheld for checking students in and out of school, the times of your bell schedule are key that are setup within Focus. Make sure your period setup matches your bell schedule. If you happen to have a different bell schedule for an early release or your are changing up times for a given occasion (Ex: Pep Rally, Early Release, etc.) you need to ensure you have a bell schedule setup with the correct times.
