Making Effective Practice Visible

Professional learning becomes more powerful when educators can see what effective practice actually looks and sounds like.

The Department of Professional Development uses modeling and demonstration to help educators translate new learning into classroom practice. We also develop coaches, teacher leaders, facilitators, and school leaders to effectively demonstrate instructional practices while helping teachers understand the decisions and actions behind them.

Within a professional learning system, demonstration creates an important bridge between learning about a practice and implementing it independently.

Effective modeling makes high-impact instructional practices visible, reduces uncertainty, and provides educators with a concrete example they can adapt within their own classrooms.

The goal is not for educators to copy another person exactly. The goal is to build the knowledge, clarity, and confidence necessary to implement effective practice independently.
