Feedback is one of the most important connections between professional learning and improved practice.
The Department of Professional Development uses evidence-based feedback to help educators understand what is working, identify a high-impact area for growth, and determine a clear next step. We also develop coaches, teacher leaders, facilitators, and school leaders to provide feedback that is specific, actionable, reflective, and aligned to professional expectations such as the LER and LLR.
Within a professional learning system, feedback helps educators make sense of their practice and determine what to do next.
Evidence → Reflection → Reinforcement → Refinement → Action
Effective feedback is not simply praise, correction, or evaluation. It helps educators understand the relationship between their professional actions and student outcomes.
When feedback is timely, focused, and connected to evidence, it creates a continuous cycle of learning in which educators can apply, reflect, adjust, and improve.
