A strong professional learning system does not begin with assumptions. It begins with evidence.

The Department of Professional Development uses data analysis to help educators and leaders identify student learning needs, examine instructional patterns, determine possible root causes, and select appropriate next steps. We also develop coaches, teacher leaders, facilitators, and school leaders to use multiple sources of evidence to guide professional learning and instructional decision-making.

Data analysis connects student outcomes directly to the adult practices that influence them.

Examine Evidence → Identify the Need → Analyze Practice → 

Determine a Response → Monitor Impact

Effective data analysis goes beyond reviewing scores. It includes student work, assessments, classroom evidence, implementation data, engagement, progress monitoring, and other information that helps educators understand both what is happening and why it may be happening.

The purpose of data analysis is ultimately action: the right professional learning, instructional response, or leadership support for the identified need.
