What is Kami?

Kami is an annotation tool for secondary staff and students to use on their laptop/Chromebook. It will allow you to highlight, markup, define words, text to speech and more! On top of that, it integrates with Schoology, our LMS for all secondary students.

Signing Up & Installing the Extension(s)

To use Kami, you must first install the extension on your Chrome browser by visiting the link below. After that, because you are on your @eastpennsd.org Google account, you will be automatically registered for the premium EDU account.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I zoom in?

Kami allows you to zoom in by using the buttons located at the top centre of your screen. Kami will automatically detect the best zoom for your screen and adjust the PDF accordingly. You can also use standard keyboard shortcuts for zooming in. Ctrl and + will zoom in while Ctrl and - will zoom out.

I am unable to annotate on this document. How do I fix this?

  • Check you have permission to annotate the document. (Google Permission)

  • Run the OCR tool on the document.

  • Check if you can annotate other documents.

  • Check if the issue is isolated to certain tools i.e. selecting text, drawing, comment tools.
