Self Service allows our students and staff to download vetted apps onto their Apple devices without having to worry about access to the Apple App Store. Every managed Apple device in the district has access to Self Service (powered by JAMF).
Students do not have access to the Apple App Store.
These apps are essential to most (if not all) students' learning experiences here at East Penn. None of these apps should be removed from a district issued device.
Epic! is the world's largest digital library built for kids! It's student-friendly and will often be used for research or as part of a learning center. We still prioritize phsyical books, but classrooms will often supplement with these digital collections.
Students in our older grades (usually Grade 2+) will use a variety of Google tools like Docs, Slides, and Drive in their classrooms to create and collaborate on a variety of assignments.
Duolingo is primarily used for its math platform where students in grades 2-5 can explore different math practice examples in stations to strengthen foundational skills.
Our students have access to the main Apple creation apps like Keynote (Presentations), Pages (Word Processing), iMovie (Video Creation), Garageband (Music Production), and Numbers (Spreadsheets).
EPSD Elementary Students have access to Scratch Jr., Sphero EDU, Swift Playgrounds (Apple), and Tynker to explore the world of coding.
