"Where We Stand"

Catherine Van Haute: "Tranquil Oblivion"

When the plane soared through the tower,

We all watched in horror and shock.

Thick smoke filled the clear, blue sky

Then screams from the streets flee from the tower.

because that was not the last.

Another soared through the second tower

A bit worse than the prior.

Crumbling pieces descended from the building

as the flames engulfed the two towers.

Confusion and terror consumed our minds.

More people bolt out of the towers, but

Others deep inside could not foresee escape.

One of the towers soon fell,

And so did all of our biases.

Hand in hand, we stayed as one.

Together, we now all stand.
