You Are Worth So Much More Than What This World Has To Offer
Ally Randall: Lily
Hailey Malik: You are worth so much more than what this world has to offer
When she began her journey
With dust on her feet
And her heart in her hands
She had walked a long road
And had found nothing
Asking in every turn,
“Will someone please take this?”
And to social media,
She gave herself away
Her feet soon grew weary
Tired of walking on and on
An ever-changing path
She asked again,
“Will someone please take this?”
And to a boy,
She gave herself away
Walking up hills that turned into mountains
She could not reach
And with bruises this time
She asked again,
“Will someone please take this?”
And to partying,
She gave herself away
On these roads, she enjoyed walking
But unbearable blisters formed
And with pain in her voice
She asked again,
“Will someone please take this?”
And to starving,
She gave herself away
As the sun started to set,
It became harder to see the road before her
She sat on the dirt path,
Feet still dusty and
Heart in hand, tattered and worn
The stale air of dissatisfaction
And with her final stitch of strength,
She cried out,
“Will someone please take this?”
Listening and waiting
Listening and waiting
“Daughter,” she heard
And unfamiliar name and a quiet voice,
“Daughter, I want it.”
