I had a stop animation assignment in art where I used 209 of them to make a hide and seek stop animation. See if you can keep up with Jack as he takes you all across Japan!

For this assignment, I made a video using the modes of rhetoric: logos (charts & facts), pathos (feelings), and ethos (reliable sources). I was supposed to choose one good thing about myself and promote that; I chose me as a good referee.

In our World Lit/Comp class, we had to perform the speeches of Brutus vs Antony. It was a competition between me and my partner. We didn't have to memorize, but we both decided to memorize our speeches and perform.

This year, we wrote books throughout the school year that were published in 2021. My book is a combination of poetry and a short story. To promote our books, we also had to make trailers for them, so here's mine. Hope you enjoy and buy the book!

In AP Lang, we composed an introductory essay expressing an idea or lesson that you strongly "Believe". The assignment is inspired by an organization called "This I Believe" which started as a series of essays read on NPR during a weekly broadcast. In my essay, I tried to utilize different figurative language techniques.

In my photography class, we learned about the nine rules of composition, understanding their importance in creating an image. The nine compositions are Radial, Framing, Rule of Thirds, Fill The Frame, Repetition, Texture, Bird's Eye, Worm's Eye, and Vanishing Point. After three classes of taking pictures of the nine different compositions, we has to submit a 2 minute video on your composition images.

In my biology class, we had just learned about the processes of photosynthesis and cellular respiration. What better way to test our knowledge than give us a stop motion project? For this assignment, we created animations using Bitmoji and Google Slides that also answered some science-based questions. Our stories were meant to be visually appealing to children and I believe our group did a good job on it.
"Invictus" by William Ernest Henley
Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.
In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.
Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds and shall find me unafraid.
It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate,
I am the captain of my soul.

In my photography class, we took pictures of our teachers, administrators, and staff for Teacher Appreciation Week. Along with the pictures, we also recorded different students telling us about their favorite teachers. I made this video along with another student.

As a HYPE Ambassador, the other four ambassadors and I collaborated to make a promo video for this outstanding program and to introduce ourselves. We made this video near the end of second semester while also juggling final exams and our other priorities. And to top it all off, we were primarily interacting virtually, so you can imagine it was necessarily easy. Nevertheless, we pushed through and make a great video.
As the last part of the selection process, I had to do a asynchronous interview, answering four to five questions in Spanish.
