10th Grade: Code Next Connect is a coding program for Black and Latinx students. Out of over 1,000 applicants, less than 25% were actually chosen. The clubs I was in were UX Design and Game Design.
UX Design (Winter Cohort): In this club, I learned all about how empathy and programming are a big part of user experience. This program is nationwide across the United States and allowed me to interact with other students and professional software engineers and/or researchers. For our final presentation, we had to interview different people and think about their needs. In the UX Design club, we used empathy and formulated solutions to the problems we saw. Game Design (Spring Cohort): In this club, I learned about the basics of game design. Similar to what I did with the HYPE Project, I used glitch to code and make new creations.
