The "My Story Is Epic" assignment was a Geotech and 9th Grade Literature/Comp collaboration project. For this project, we had to use our imaginations to create heroes that would be featured in group trailers and individual stories. We combined the technological components of Geotech with writing from literature class. In the end, this was our group's final's presentation, featuring the heroes, Esther, Cheyenne, and Raphaela, against the villains, Bandit and Flamistic...
...this is a little poster I made for our group's hero story...
...and this is my origin story of my character...

The Origin of Cheyenne George
I am Cheyenne George, a mother, wife, and daughter. I’m a very creative person. I mean I am an aspiring fashion designer afterall. I have these pretty scissors that I stole from someone a long time ago, and apparently, they’re “magical.” I’m also a little weird since I’m a 26 year old with a sassy daughter and loving husband who still watches anime like some child. Totally embarrassing, but who cares, right? Though my favorite anime of all time would definitely have to be Fairy Tail. No kizzi cap...or at least that’s what I think kids say these days. Anyway, remember that “sassy daughter” I was talking about earlier?. Well, she’s coming back from college today so I just hope all goes well.
Now, you’re probably tired of hearing about me and I’d love to tell you about my family, but there’s really nothing to tell. For as long as I can remember from my childhood, I’ve lived in the slums of Paris, France with no kin to speak of. Back then, it was steal or be stolen from. I had to fight for what I wanted to get out, so from the age of 4 to 13, I snuck around schools to listen in on different class discussions and that was basically how I got my education until I had stolen enough to attend Lycee Fenelon at age 14. Near the end of highschool, I’d gotten a full scholarship to FIT by submitting one of my dress designs in a school contest. Therefore, I went to college there where I met my husband, Xander. So yeah, that’s me.
I always tried to get out of the slum life, but it was hard. I was just a kid who had no family and had to do everything on my own. One of the biggest problems from my wretched childhood revolved around pity and mockery. People would always look down on me when they saw people walk across the streets of Paris. When I looked them in their eyes, I could see the pity they felt towards me. It was painful, you know!?! I never enjoyed being pitied. So what if I was poor!?! If I was sloppy and alone! I didn’t need anyone’s pity because I was independent. Those rich people with their new clothes and such...they were so petty. They complained when they had everything and yet, every time we crossed paths, I was the subject of their pity and mockery. Well, no more! I’m grown and a new me! I’m not that slum girl anymore. I’m Cheyenne George and no one to be pitied or mocked!
Afterall, I have a superpower,...or rather a super tool. Those magical scissors allow me to cut through the fabric of time and space. I wonder if there are other people in the world with powers. What if there was like this time traveler and they just came to my time? That’d be cool unless they’re evil. That’d suck. Oh, but I guess I should tell you how I figured out about my scissors were magical. It’s wasn’t anything special. I was just walking through Goodwill, clipping my scissors, about to donate them when they started to glow and next thing I knew, a portal had just appeared, and that’s when I had made my realization.
To sum it all up, I’m an old scum turned good by her love designing, family, and a yearning for a better life and real education. I have two goals in life: to help others get a better education and to develop a better relationship with my daughter. I know that I can achieve these goals with my trusty magical scissors in hand. Hmm, I wonder what life has in store for me next. Maybe things’ll go my way....maybe I’ll really meet that time traveler. I just can’t wait to see how my life unfolds. Gives you a tingly, excited feeling, right…..
