Water Bottle Rocket Project

Pre-Calculus: Rocket Week

It was finally time for the long awaited, annual Rocket Week! We spent a week designing water bottle rockets from soda and pop bottles. Our group used a Fanta, Ginger Ale, and Coca-Cola to make two rockets: Rockette and Rockette Jr. Ultimately, we were only able to add wings to one of them, but it was a interesting project. As we launched our rockets, we measured how long they were in the air and the angle at which they rose. After going back to class, we compiled our data to create the graph below, depicting Rockette's movement in the air.
