I learned about the different types of cell communication, including short distance and long distance, and signal transduction. We also learned about how specific chemical signals and messages (ligands) are sent off to interact with specific target cells and bring about a response.

I learned about the stages meiosis and specific terminology regarding homologous chromosomes and chromatids, the differences between mitosis and meiosis, the law of segregration and independent assortment, fertilization, and how genetic variation occurs via meiosis.
