Portlanta Exchange Program

Freshman year, I had the extreme pleasure of traveling to Portland, Oregon for the Portlanta Exchange Program. That year, twenty metro Atlanta high school students, including myself, were able to immerse ourselves in Portland culture. Similar to ours, it's urban, yet the experiences were completely different. We even went to a few Portland Timbers' games, one of which was against our home team, Atlanta United! I've been to soccer games before, but the atmosphere at that game was insane! The chants of the fans for their respective teams lit a fire in myself and by the middle of the game, I had memorized some Atlanta United chants. The following year, the Portlanta kids were supposed to come to Atlanta, but unfortunately, the pandemic hindered this development.
