Quality Circle Time - conducted by Parents
Children learn best when the significant adults in their lives -- parents, teachers, and other family and community members -- work together to encourage and support them. Meaningful involvement from the Parents is very essential.
This is an initiative where the educators of DPS invite the parent of a student to Conduct the QCT and talk on topics like, Kindness, Environment, Being happy, Helping others, etc. The parents of Pre-primary participated enthusiastically in the venture.

A Mock Vegetable Market
Grade KG I
If fruits and vegetables could only talk and tell you how good for you they really are! Knowing what constitutes a healthy lifestyle and how to practice healthy habits are key life skills that prove very useful as children grow and develop. It's crucial to get kids off on the right foot at an early age when it comes to this. The Educators of KGI planned some wonderful activities that offered a lovely means of doing so.
To Introduce Theme 2 - Fruits and Vegetables, the educators created a MOCK vegetable market, some children came dressed as vegetable vendors and some played the role of buyers. The activity played a very important role for the children to understand the process of buying and selling. The next day, the children made fruit salad using their favourite fruits. The children served the fruit salad to the Principal, Ms Anupama Sagdeo. Madam praised the children for the effort, this helped them build their self-confidence.
Janmashtami Celebrations
The Pre Primary Wing celebrated Janmashtami with great enthusiasm. The tiny tots came dressed as Krishna and Yashoda and showcased a Leela from the life of Shree Krishna. The children also participated in class activities where they made a Murli and Dahi Handi.
Red Day
The Pre-primary wing of DPS Lava, celebrated Red Day on 30th August 2022 to introduce children into the mesmerizing realm of colours. This time the celebrations were integrated with Ganesh Chaturthi Celebrations. Shades of red, from crimson to cherry, from cerise to scarlet, made the tiny tots feel bright, lively & cheerful.
Red symbolises enthusiasm, life and vitality. The day started with red dresses, red roses, red teddys, red cars, red apples, red cherries, here a red... there a red ......... red red everywhere. Bulletin boards displayed the craftwork of teachers.
The tiny tots looked stunning in their red outfits. A special assembly was conducted with emphasis on the significance of red colour & The Teachers narrated stories of Bal Ganesha, played songs, and children danced. The teachers sang the red song “My Red Balloon” .
Students created Lord Ganesh using red disposable glasses following the teacher's instructions.
Colours are indeed the smiles of nature.......
The Red Day celebration was a wonderful learning activity which helped children sort and classify objects based on colours thereby reinforcing cognitive skills.
