APPROACH
Theoretical/project based
The course follows up the in-depth study of concept art techniques acquired in “Digital applications for art 1”, with a focus on the different applications of concept art to the entertainment industry: videogames, advertising, events, films, and animation. The students will widen their traditional and digital drawing skills, in order to better develop and visualise their ideas.
The programme consists of one single module, which grants 6 credits.
Successful students will be able to:
Identify, understand and critically analyse examples of concept art
Use different expression techniques
Autonomously develop comprehensive projects, in accordance with the brief
Concept art: disciplinary approaches and references
Basic elements of representation: theory and techniques
Narration as visual language
Expression techniques: traditional and digital pictorial approach
Development of a full-scale illustration project: research, creation and technical finishing
This is a theoretical/project based course.
Students will take part in the following activities, which may vary depending on the development of different projects:
Classroom lectures
Use of tutorials, videos or other media tools
Exercises and revisions
Workshops
Individual or group projects
Individual or group study and research
