APPROACH
Theoretical/project based
The project laboratory takes the teaching of game design to an advanced level, through the acquisition of the most contemporary techniques and technologies in the fields of Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality. During the course, the notions of programming acquired over the previous semester will be reviewed and deepened.
The programme consists of one single module, which grants 8 credits.
Successful students will be able to:
Identify the main techniques and uses of Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality
Carry out critical analysis of existing projects
Design and implement interactive and recreational experiences based on the project concept
A general, introductory section is devoted to the understanding of game design basics within augmented and virtual reality
Individual, practical exercises support the practical and theoretical learning of the foundations of VR game design and augmented reality games
Introduction to the media and practices that are related and integrated into the subject, through group work
This is a theoretical/project based course.
The students will take part in the following activities, which may vary depending on the development of different projects:
Classroom lectures
Use of tutorials, videos or other media tools
Exercises and revisions
Workshops
Individual or group projects
Individual or group study and research
Assessment tools may include:
Completion of a project
Oral exam
