APPROACH
Theoretical/project based
The project lab introduces the students to the world of character animation, through the acquisition of basic characters modelling techniques, inverted cinematics and motion capture, covering all the basics related to character animation and subsequent animation.
The programme consists of one single module, which grants 8 credits.
Successful students will be able to:
Identify the main techniques and uses of character animation
Carry out a critical analysis of existing projects
Carry out composition and post-production on the basis of the project concept
A general, introductory section is dedicated to the understanding of the basics of character animation
Further practical exercises contribute to the practical and theoretical learning of the basics of inverted cinematics and character animation
Introduction of media and practices related to and integrated with the subject, through group work
This is a theoretical/project based course.
The students will take part in the following activities, which may vary depending on the development of different projects:
Classroom lectures
Use of tutorials, videos or other media tools
Exercises and revisions
Workshops
Individual or group projects
Individual or group study and research
Assessment tools may include:
Completion of a project
Oral exam
