DURING IMPLEMENTATION
The resumption of face-to-face classes is now under its expanded phase. One of the guidelines for the limited face-to-face class is the school's validation to assure the school's readiness to conduct limited face-to-face classes. Our school luckily passed the verification.
April 04, 2022, to be exact, was the first day of implementing the limited face-to-face class at Panarayon Elementary School. I saw how everyone was excited and happy about the opening. During the implementation, a lot of things I have done. I assisted learners in the washing area, giving soap and towels to them. I got their temperature and put alcohol in their hands. I also helped them follow the green arrows on going to their respective classrooms. These activities are the usual things you can observe at Panarayon Elementary School. It's far from the usual stuff that I experienced every morning when I was once an elementary student. It makes me sad to think that these changes would be the ordinary things my learner will do every morning. Positively, I just convinced myself that these changes are for the safety of my learner. So during that time, I think of the possible activity to implement and help my learner be safe and secure from COVID -19. I proposed the "Demonstration and Facilitation of Proper Hand Washing" activity. My training objectives are to help the learners raise awareness and practice proper handwashing. The principal approved my proposal to conduct the action.
My preparation was not so easy because there were things I must prioritize. One of them is printing modules. Since our school conducted a limited face-to-face class, our class in grade 4 was divided into two groups: Class A and Class B. Class A will have the face-to-face class from Monday to Thursday, while Class B is in modular learning and vice versa. So, I need to prioritize printing and sort out modules for the distribution for the class who will be in the modular learning. I don't have time to prepare when I'm at school. But since I was dedicated to accomplishing my proposal, I did my preparation when I got home. Sleepless nights were paid off when I conducted my proposal on April 07, 2022. I did the Demonstration and Facilitation room to room. I used a PowerPoint presentation to catch their interest in participating in my lecture. I also called one student to perform the activity while doing the demonstration. After my activity I gave fliers. It contains a lot of information about avoiding covid 19 and the proper handwashing steps, and a lot more. My proposed action is indeed successful. I am thankful to every learner for their willingness to participate in my activity. It is a significant achievement for me as a future teacher to help them raise awareness, leading them to be safe and secure.
