REFLECTION TO THE ePORTFOLIO
My field practice was a great help in achieving my dream as an elementary teacher. It gives me a broader range of learning in the actual field of work. By following the seven elements of art, I can improve myself and become prepared for the profession that I am dreaming of. I learned a lot during my internship. I knew that the teachers and stakeholders should give the physical environment of the school importance because it promotes a safe and secure environment wherein it makes students more motivated to go to school. I learned that as a teacher, I must be aware of my learners, characteristics, behaviors, and need for me to plan and carry out the learning activities, strategies, and assessment that is appropriate to my student's level. I learned that as a teacher, I should be mindful of imposing a kind of standards on my students. As a teacher, I should set means to attain fairness and address their diversity. I learned that as a teacher, I should establish an excellent home-school collaboration through parents and teacher meetings so that parents are aware of the development and other issues about their learners. I learned that as a teacher, I need to enforce positive discipline because it helps in managing the classroom. Giving them a positive discipline will help them less feel the negative feeling or thoughts about themselves. And mostly, the students prefer to be more obedient. By this, they will realize that as their teacher, I care about their actions and behavior. I learned that the classroom management strategy I need to respond to diverse types of learners is by letting my students work in a group. Through that, students can be able to learn respect and acceptance. It will able the learners to adapt or adjust to the circumstances. Letting them work in a group can develop their critical thinking skills, and they will be motivated to learn because they learned to have confidence in themselves. I also learned how to prepare a lesson plan. In writing a lesson plan, I should have clear objectives. I will be SMART, Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, and Timely. As a teacher, I will employ activities that will motivate or engage my students to participate, feel a sense of belonging, and develop their critical thinking skills through collaborations. I will make sure that my lesson will run smoothly without distractions by incorporating technology and giving appropriate standards so that everything will have limitations and respect. I will organize the class well and assess the students learning. I have learned that it's essential to understand the topic I want to deliver clearly. Another lesson I learned is that I need to plan to be prepared and organized.
I realized that there are things that I don't experience because of the covid-19. Still, I'm grateful to my cooperating teacher that they provided me with knowledge about many circumstances that should do by a teacher. One of them is being an action researcher. Action research helps the teacher in developing one's growth in the profession. I learned that all the teachers must be action researchers to master and develop their professional skills in an area that needs improvement or development. Being an action researcher, the teacher can become credible and effective, which aids in boosting confidence because of the credible or reliable teaching strategies. It can be kept and acknowledged for future reference as an improvement. I realized that I need to become an action researcher to become a quality and effective teacher. Because if I am an action researcher, I can address the issues or problems in my students. I can be able to find a solution by reflecting on my research. I can be able to find a reliable and evident solution to address the issues of my students. Being an action researcher enabled me to develop my professional skills in adopting the new circumstances that will allow me to improve my students' growth.
. As a whole, along my journey, I learned that I need to master and develop the seven elements of art as a teacher. It is a way for me to be an effective and efficient teacher.
"The heart of education is in the seven elements of art."
