Amidon-Bowen ES Addition

Amidon-Bowen will receive a new Child Development Center as an addition to the school. It'll be located at 401 “I” Street SW, Washington, DC 20024 and create approximately 6,500 gross square feet of new learning space. The project will place the building in-line with the District of Columbia Public Schools (“DCPS”) Educational Specification district-wide standard which requires "all schools and campuses to have the space and resources necessary for effective instruction."

Amidon-Bowen Elementary School (“Amidon-Bowen”) is a DCPS public school located in Ward 6. As a part of the from-birth-to-three initiative, Amidon-Bowen will receive a Child Development Center for infants and toddlers ages 0 to 3 that will be managed by a community-based organization. The Child Development Center will occupy a new addition of the existing facility. The major program spaces are two (2) infant-toddler classrooms, a welcome center, and a food preparation area. In addition, this Project will include two (2) Pre-K classrooms.
