Project Overview
Hart Middle School is a DC Public School located in Ward 8, on Oxon Run Park. The existing historic facility was built in 1955, with an addition following in 1964. The project is anticipated to modernize the whole of the original 1955 structure, estimated to be about 135,000 square feet.
The project will include all new outdoor facilities to be determined with the school and DCPS, but is likely to include fields/courts, outdoor classrooms, and/or parkour, as well as parking and loading facilities. The project will also include an internal swing space for utilization by Hart students during the project's construction years. The modernized Hart MS will be opening its doors to students, staff and the Hart community in Summer 2029, in time for the start of School Year 2029-30.
