Burroughs ES

Next SIT Meeting: TBD

Project Overview:

Burroughs Elementary School is a public neighborhood elementary school located in the Brookland neighborhood of Ward 5. Burroughs's modernization project shall include full design and construction services for an approximately 75,000-square-foot school facility. This facility will accommodate the Burroughs program, upgrade the building systems and technology to DCPS's 21st Century standards, and meet the District's rigorous sustainability goals, including achieving LEED Gold certification and pursuit of Net Zero certification.

The project scope will also accommodate the construction of a modular swing campus on Burroughs field, to serve Burroughs Elementary school during their modernization, and a number of subsequent schools undergoing modernization. This modular campus will be built to have approximately 40 classroom-sized spaces, 1 large multi-purpose tent, a modular kitchen, two playgrounds, and covered ADA access across all temporary facilities.
