How can we express ourselves with fellow musicians and set sustainable goals for our musical growth?
In this unit, students will delve into the essential elements of ensemble playing, intonation mastery, and personal goal setting. Through collaborative exploration, students will learn to blend their individual instrumental voices into a harmonious whole, refining their ability to communicate and synchronize within a group setting. The unit will also focus on the nuances of intonation, training students' ears to recognize and adjust pitch discrepancies for a polished and precise performance. To further enrich their musical journey, students will engage in personal goal setting, developing a clear roadmap for their own growth and improvement throughout the course. Through targeted exercises, practice strategies, and regular self-assessment, students will take ownership of their progress, fostering a sense of agency and accomplishment in their musical pursuits.

Forfeit their opportunity to be reassessed.
Special considerations may be made for students with extended absences because of sickness, family problems, or family tragedy.
Any class missed will result in the following:
Video evidence of practice in specified sections of the music. This is due no later than Friday of the same week.
If a student has three unexcused absences they will be unable to participate in other SOT and club events until further discussed with the director. These make-up times will be held during SOT3 and 4.
When reassessment is offered, students must meet the following requirements:
complete the original task or assessment (summative) by the specified due date

The highest summative assessment score is what is entered into Powerschool.
There is a threshold to the reassessments to which students are entitled:
Summative Reassessment Threshold: You are able to reassess ONCE given you satisfy the requirements above. If there is a plan to reassess the same learning outcome, then no additional reassessment is necessary.
Formative Reassessment Threshold: You are provided with UNLIMITED formative reassessments as these types of assessments are solely meant for feedback and improving your skills and abilities in English.
