AP Statistics is an introductory college-level statistics course that introduces students to the major concepts and tools for collecting, analyzing, and drawing conclusions from data. Students cultivate their understanding of statistics using technology, investigations, problem solving, and writing as they explore concepts like variation and distribution; patterns and uncertainty; and data-based predictions, decisions, and conclusions.

to develop strategies for collecting, organizing, analyzing, and drawing conclusions from data.
to design, administer, and tabulate results from surveys and experiments
that probability and simulations aid students in constructing models for chance behavior
that sampling distributions provide the logical structure for confidence intervals and hypothesis tests
to develop effective statistical communication skills, students are required to prepare frequent written and oral analyses of real data
to produce convincing oral and written statistical arguments, using appropriate terminology, in a variety of applied settings
essential techniques for producing data (surveys, experiments, observational studies), analyzing data (graphical & numerical summaries)
how to model data (probability, random variables, sampling distributions)
how to draw conclusions from data (inference procedures – confidence intervals and significance tests)
to become critical consumers of published statistical results by heightening their awareness of ways in which statistics can be improperly used to mislead, confuse, or distort the truth.

Students should:
Come to class prepared with all necessary course materials, this includes a graphing calculator (Ti-83/84/89/N-spire).
Check Google Classroom on a daily basis for assignments, documents, etc. Contact teacher if unable to access it.
Master standards relevant to each unit of study.
Complete and submit assessments on time.
Work effectively in collaborative groups.
Contribute positively to the classroom and class discussions.
Show kindness, open-mindedness, and respect to peers.
Seek appropriate help when needed.
Follow Check-in retake procedures. Submit all homework, book appointment with your teacher and wait for it to be accepted.
