READING/WRITING

  2. Read or listen to the informational text. After each section of text, tell what the central idea is of that section. (The central idea is the main point that the author is trying to make.)

  3. Write at least two complete sentences to tell about the central idea of the informational text you read.

  • Have students share the central idea from the informational text they read.

✎ Create a t-chart and label one side Red Objects and one side Blue Objects.

✎ Explore your home and record objects that are red and objects that are blue.

  • Explain your work to someone at home.

SOCIAL STUDIES

✎ Read or listen to Me on the Map by Joan Sweeney. If you do not have access to the internet then look at maps in your home or talk with someone them. After reading discuss tools that help us determine locations and words that describe location.
