READING/WRITING

  1. Read or listen to the fairy tale, Jack and the Beanstalk.

    • If you are unable to view the video, you can read or watch any other fairy tale.

2. Discuss the following with a caregiver:

  • How do you know the story was a fairy tale?

  • What magical elements were included?

  • What predictable words were used (once upon a time, happily ever after)?

  • Were there examples of good versus evil?

3. Write at least 3 complete sentences about the story.

Potential Grade: Have students share about the fairy tale they read and the characteristics it included.

  • What season is it today?

  • How do you know?

  1. Label your picture with the season.

  • Think about how your picture would change if it was summer.

  • How would your picture change if it was fall?

  • How would your picture change if it was winter?

Potential Grade

  • Explain to someone at home how the change of seasons would change your picture.

  • Would anything stay the same?

Largo, Andante, Presto - Largo = “Very Slow”

  • Find a song that is very slow and dance with your parents in very slow movements

- Andante = “Medium Slow” but faster than Largo

  • Find a song that is medium slow and dance with your parents in medium slow movements

- Presto = “Fast”

  • Find a song that is fast and dance with your parents in fast movements

Potential Grade - Teach your parents the difference between Largo, Andante, and Presto
