In the first week of May, 12 of our students visited the Agrinio institution of the 5th Senior High School, where they worked together with Greek and Turkish students on IT and STEM-related projects.
The first day began with a tour of the school, where the Greek students were already eagerly waiting for our arrival. We also introduced our school, after which the international teams started working together on various creative tasks and laboratory activities. In the afternoon, the students explored the city informally and quickly found common ground with their new Greek and Turkish friends.
On Tuesday, the school programs continued: participants took part in STEM lessons and practical workshops while gaining insight into the everyday life of the Greek education system. During the shared lunch, they also had the opportunity to taste local specialties, choosing from authentic Greek souvlaki, gyros, moussaka, and kebab. In the afternoon, further joint activities and conversations strengthened the international connections.
On Wednesday, the group went on an excursion to a nearby lake together with students and teachers from the host school. This nature-oriented program provided an excellent opportunity for participants to get to know each other and the local environment even better.
Thursday’s program included a city treasure hunt and sightseeing tour. In smaller teams, the students explored the sights of Agrinio with the help of an application while solving various tasks together.
As the closing event of the mobility program, the students attended a ceremonial award presentation on Friday, where they were introduced to traditional Greek dances and joined their local peers for a dance. In the second half of the day, they took part in a full-day excursion to Lefkada, which became one of the most memorable experiences of the week for all participants.
Throughout the project, the students not only gained professional experience and new knowledge, but also improved their language skills while returning home with lifelong memories and new international friendships.
