Erasmus+ Benalmádena 2023
As part of the Erasmus+ course, our students spent eight fantastic days in Benalmádena, Spain. Fifteen of our high school students and two accompanying teachers participated in the study abroad trip between October 21 and 28. During this time, the children lived with families, and during the day they worked intensively on a project related to sustainability in English. It was an exciting experience to get to know the sustainability project of the local school, and during the visit to the orange plantation, it was also fascinating to experience how farming takes place with sustainable methods in everyday life.
Our students also travelled to Malaga, where they conducted an interview with a representative of the local tourist office, who explained what measures are being taken to reduce the ecological footprint of those who come here. By the way, our trip also contributed to sustainability, as we participated in the environmental protection program by planting 33 trees through the travel agency's website.
The cultural programs accompanying the language development and the sustainability project were also great. During a full-day trip, for example, we got to know the rich history of the city of Ronda, and in Malaga, we had the opportunity to explore the centre of the Costa del Sol and the Alcazaba fortress.
These few days gave us all unforgettable experiences, and we are also confident that our high school students learned a lot about sustainability and different cultures. It is guaranteed that our experiences abroad will live vividly in our memories for a long time.
