In November 2022, we spent two weeks in the capital of Ireland as part of Erasmus+ student mobility. We traveled to Dublin with twelve students who worked on two projects at the same time with their fellow Irish students.
On weekday mornings, the students concentrated on working together, and we spent the afternoons exploring Dublin and its surroundings. We hiked on the Howth Peninsula extending into the Irish Sea, visited the old British barracks, which is now the National Museum, and held a photo competition in the National Gallery of Ireland. We visited the aquarium and the beach in Bray.
On Sunday, the organizers guided us to the imposing Malahide Castle, which was the residence of one of Ireland's oldest families, but the current inhabitants are only ghosts. :) Of course, we also made it to the popular Archaeological Museum, where the students got to see the country's historical treasures, and we also looked around the campus of Trinity College, built in the 16th century.
As sports students, we were also interested in Irish sports, so we visited the third largest stadium in Europe, Croke Park, where we learned about the history of hurling and Gaelic football, as well as the rules of the game.
We spent the rest of our free time and evenings with more meaningful programs: we tried Irish dancing and the food offered in Irish pubs, for example, we ate fish'n'chips and Irish stew.
