About us

Our school

Cserepka School is located in the western part of the city of Pécs, in Uránváros. As one of the old schools of Pécs, our institution has been given a new name many times over the years, but even then, its task was to recognize and nurture the city's sports talents.

In the 50 years since its foundation, the school has had several names and managers, but the really big change was when the Baptist Aid took over the maintenance of the institution in the 2012/2013 academic year, and on September 1, 2018, when the school started its operation as an independent unit under the name of János Cserepka Baptista Primary School, Secondary School, and Sports School.

In addition to sports, the school's other main profile is the English-Hungarian bilingual training for elementary school students, which started in September 2012. In the program —that started with a small number of pupils— the institution was able to start full classes in the last 2-3 years. In the bilingual program, students can learn about the culture of English-speaking countries in addition to the increased number of 5 and later 6 English classes per week.

Our students come from different social backgrounds and environments, but our goal is to ensure equal access to knowledge for everyone by providing equal opportunities. This is typically realized in grades 9-12, but it is also clearly visible in elementary school: we train and support competitive athletes with our sports education.

For them, the knowledge of at least one foreign language at a conversational level is of particular importance, which is provided by language classes taught over a large number of hours.

Our school regards talent development as a priority, and in the 2019/2020 academic year, it was awarded the title of excellent talent point, which, in addition to sports, also affects language education.

Our institution is a partner institution of the University of Pécs, so we also accept and support student teachers. We would like to provide them as well as our students with a high-quality, modern education.

About the project

Our school is committed to internationalization, and our application is accompanied by a well-planned internationalization strategy and development plan. Our project builds on the procedures, methods and relationship capital developed during previous projects. We regularly use international platforms. Our dissemination activities are varied, and it should be emphasized that in addition to the teachers and management, the students also play a major role in them. A (target language) student blog and podcast are being prepared about student mobilities. The organization, the management and the Erasmus team responsible for internationalization are prepared to implement the planned activities, and through them we will achieve the results stated in the success criteria.
