The Prompt: Examine the ways in which the global issue of your choice is presented through the content and form of two of the works* that you have studied in Lang/Literature.
Works is defined as TEXTS: One of your works must be literary; the other non-literary. Scroll down to see pairings of texts.
The IB has defined global issues in the following manner: (a) they have significance on a wide/large scale; (b) they are transnational; (c) the impact is felt in everyday contexts. The choice of two extracts is vital here. The extracts - of no more than 40 lines, needs to zero in on the global issue decided. The student will be analyzing the author’s choices in relation to the global issue and how it is presented and so an extracts.
