Online Registration for 2025-2026 is now open on the CMS Student Placement Website.
If you have any questions regarding enrollment, please call CMS Student Placement at 980-343-5335.
If you would rather complete a paper enrollment packet, please see those links below. After completing, you would need to bring to the CMS Student Placement Office, listed at the address below.
In addition to completing the CMS Enrollment Packet, you would need to have with you the following documents:
Certified Copy of Birth Certificate
Immunization Records
Proof of Residency. Please note: if you cannot produce a current utility bill, a home or apartment lease contract will suffice until you can provide a current utility bill (required before starting school).
Last Report Card / Unofficial Transcript
Driver's License/Identification of Registering Parent/Guardian
Social Security Card (Optional)

CMS will process new student enrollments in the order they are received. Parents will receive an assignment letter once registration has been processed and is complete.
Once the enrollment has been processed and completed, you will be contacted by a Hough school counselor to begin course selection after August 1st.
*PLEASE NOTE: Families will be unable to select courses without the following:
A copy of the student's transcript (rising 10-12), or report card (rising 9th). You can fax these documents to Valencia Wentz at 980-343-2215 or email them to valencia1.wentz@cms.k12.nc.us

Tours During the School Year
Our parent volunteer led tours are generally held on Tuesdays at 9:15 AM. Please sign up for your tour below.
When you arrive at Hough, please sign in at the front office with your driver's license and then continue to Student Services
We do not conduct student tours in the summer.
New students will have the opportunity to attend either
Freshman Orientation or New Student Orientation before school starts
