Sherrida Smith

 (School Social Worker)

I am originally from Las Vegas, Nevada and I have a BA in Psychology from Fisk University and a Master of Social Work from Tulane University . My post graduate employment includes working for DSS as an Employment Social Worker, CPS Foster Care SW, and Foster Care SW Supervisor for a total of 17 years.  I have worked for CMS as a school social worker for over 8 years to include elementary, middle and high school social worker.  I also served as a social work coordinator for a brief period. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my husband and three children.

My favorite pastimes include working in the community and helping people through love, support and encouragement to reach their goals and dreams. I also enjoy writing novels, children’s literature and poetry, exercising, acting, cooking, singing, and public speaking.

My advice for students is:  Pursue your dreams and never stop.  Be intentional, walk within your purpose and there is nothing that you can’t achieve.
