Kitchen Conundrum
Scott is planning a Halloween party for all of the kids and parents in the 4th grade. He has to get the decorations, food, and party favors ready for his guests. Scott has so many cookies to bake. He can fit 24 cookies into the oven at a time. It takes each batch 20 minutes to bake. He has two hours to bake. How many cookies can he bake in that amount of time?
Scott wanted something to really gross out the guests so he decided to stick little marshmallows on the ends of candy sticks and dip them in melted caramel. His mother wouldn't let him do it because she said it was too yucky to look at. What do you think?
The party starts at five o'clock in the evening. It is expected to last at least two hours but Scott hopes that it will last at least three hours. He want to start the hayride at six and then have a bonfire at 9 or 8 depending on the weather.
