Google Meet - There will be a Google Meet at 11:00 today for anyone who can join.
Time: about 30 minutes
Materials Needed: Device for accessing Google Classroom
Reading - Snuggle up in your coziest spot with your books and read. You can read to yourself or ask a sibling, babysitter, parent, grandparent, etc. to partner read with you - take turn reading and listening to each other. Another option is logging into Epic! (it is linked on our Google Classroom) and reading some books online.
*** If your student is finding that they have read the books they have at home over and over, Epic! does have some books at their level to read, as well as books at higher levels that the computer reads to them. I have put some books into each student's Epic mailbox if they want to log on and check them out - just tell them to look for the bell in the top right corner - that will take them to their mailbox. The link to Epic! is on our Google Classroom main page or go to getepic.com. You can log in with our class code - zvb9129
Time: 20 - 30 minutes
Materials Needed: Books or device to access Epic! on Google Classroom
Langauage Arts - Play Teach Your Monster to Read to review letters, sounds and words! The link is on our Google Classroom. You could also try out their new game, Teach Your Monster Reading for Fun.
You can listen to me read The Crayon Box that Talked by Shane DeRolf - check in 'Read Alouds with Mrs Stewart' on the Classwork tab of our Google Classroom
Time: 20 minutes

Writing - This week we are going to do some CVC activities to make, read and write words. CVC means consonant-vowel-consonant. CVC words have three letters; the first is a consonant, the second is a vowel and the third in a consonant. Examples are dog, cat, sit, hot, pin, nut, net.
Today, I would like the students make the cards that we will use for some of our CVC activities. First, you have to get a couple pieces of paper that they can use to cut into letter cards (like the number cards they have for math). It could be regular paper, construction paper, card stock - whatever you can find around the house. An adult may need to help cut the paper into 'cards' and make sure they have atleast 26, one for each letter. After you get the paper cut up, use a marker (a crayon or pencil will do if you don't have a marker) to print one letter on each card (lower case letters preferred). To help distinguish the vowels from the consonants, you could use a different colored marker for a, e, i, o, and u. I am posting a picture of my cards to show you as an example as well as a reference guide for letter formation in case students want to use it .
Keep your letter cards in a baggie or container so you have them to use through the week.
Time: 20 - 30 minutes
Materials Needed: pencil, eraser, paper to make letter cards out of, scissors, 2 markers if you have them
Math - Number of the Day - pick one of your number cards and use that number to do the number of the day work.
Counting - Today you will be counting obects and writing down the number that you count. The first thing you do is get your baggie or container of 100 objects that you collected and counted last week. Reach in and grab a handful of the objects. Take them out and set them on the table/floor in front of you. Count how many objects you grabbed. When you are done counting, write that number down on a piece of paper or on a whiteboard. Put the objects that you grabbed back into the baggie or container and repeat - take out another handful, count them and write down the number. Keep grabbing handfuls for about 10 minutes.
Go Fish! or War! - Have a game of Go Fish! or War!
Time: about 30 minutes
Materials Needed: number cards, paper/whiteboard for Number of the Day work, reference charts for Number of the Day, 100 objects, paper and pencil or whiteboard and whiteboard marker for counting, deck of cards
