Writing - I NEED your help!!!! I heard that it is going to snow - a lot - tonight and tomorrow. I want to go outside and make a snowman after the storm, but I don't know how to! Can you please tell me how to build a snowman? I don't have a very good memory so you will have to write down the directions so I don't forget.
You might want to break it down into steps so I understand what to do and what order I do it in. You might want to use words like First, Next, Then, Last and Finally. You could also draw a picture to help me understand. AND, don't forget to leave spaces between your words so I can easily read the directions. If you send me a picture of your writing to tell me how to build a snowman, I will go out and build one after it snows and take a picture of it to show you on Monday!
Time: 20 minutes
Materials Needed: Writing paper, pencil, eraser, coloring tools (optional), a device with a camera to take a picture of your writing to email to Mrs. Stewart (optional)
Math - Find the ten frames printed on pink cardstock and the container of counters that you took home before Christmas. Also grab the number cards that you cut out yesterday. Your first Math task today is to pick one of the number cards and then show that number on the ten frames with the counters. Do this 10 times with 10 different numbers.
Your second Math task today is Number of the Day. I am going to post a picture below of all the ways we show our number of the day during our morning meeting at school. You can pick a number card and use the number on the card to do the number of the day work. I am posting a blank one and one that I completed for the number 12 so you and your family understand what to do. You can write your Number of the Day work on a piece of paper or whiteboard at home.
Your last Math task today is to use your deck of cards to have a game of Go Fish! with a sibling/adult. Winner gets a high five!
Time: 30 minutes
Materials Needed: ten frames, counters, number cards, paper/whiteboard for Number of the Day work, reference charts below for Number of the Day, cards
Health and Wellness - I am adding Cosmic Kids Penguin Yoga to the Yoga link on the 'Classwork' tab of our Google Classroom. If the video does not work for you, you could ask an adult to search "Cosmic Kids Penguin Yoga" on Youtube (on a device other than a school chrome book)
Time: 15 minutes
Materials Needed: device to access Google Classroom
