Google Meet - There will be a Google Meet at 11:00 today for anyone who can join.

Reading - Snuggle up in your coziest spot with your books and read. You can read to yourself or ask a sibling, babysitter, parent, grandparent, etc. to partner read with you - take turn reading and listening to each other. Another option is logging into Epic! (it is linked on our Google Classroom) and reading some books online.
Time: 20 - 30 minutes
Materials Needed: Books or device to access Epic! on Google Classroom
Langauage Arts - Play Teach Your Monster to Read to review letters, sounds and words! The link is on our Google Classroom. You could also try out their new game, Teach Your Monster Reading for Fun.
Also, you can watch the read alouds for the other'Snowmen' books by Caralyn Buehner (you'll find the links under Language Arts on the 'Classwork' tab of our Google Classroom)
Time: 20 - 30 minutes
Materials Needed: device to access Google Classroom
Writing - Writing about your favorite part of one of the books you’ve read
Pick one of the books that you read today or in the past few days. Think about what your favorite part of that book was. Tell me the name of the book, what your favorite part was and why it was your favorite part. This is just like the writing activity we did before Christmas at the mat for Literacy Stations. (You can also draw a picture of your favorite part.) Remember you can use your book to help you with names and tricky words!
Some examples -
I read A Birthday cake for Ben. I liked when Ben's mom made him a dinosaur cake. I love dinosaurs just like Ben!
or
I read the book Presents! I like the part when the porcupine opens his present because the balloons bust and it is funny.
or
I read Wake Up Dad. My favorite part is when Mom says "Wake up dad!" really loud because dad falls out of the bed and it made me laugh.
Time: 20 - 30 minutes
Materials Needed: pencil, eraser, paper to write on, one of the books you've read lately
Math - Number of the Day - pick one of your number cards and use that number to do the number of the day work.
Numbers to 100 - Use your blank 100 chart in the plastic page protector and your whiteboard marker to practice writing the numbers to 100. Use your hundred chart on the blue card stock for a reference guide if you need/want to. See how many numbers you can fill in in a set amount of time, or fill in the whole thing if you want!
Go Fish/War! - Use your deck of cards to play a game of Go Fish or War with a friend, family member or babysitter. To change up the game War!, you could change the rules to say that the SMALLEST number wins each round, instead of the BIGGEST number - just an idea!
Time: about 30 minutes
Materials Needed: number cards, paper/whiteboard for Number of the Day work, reference charts for Number of the Day, whiteboard marker and blank hundred chart in the plastic page protector, hundred chart (blue cardstock) and deck of cards
