Stage Combat
Learners show their progress against each of the competencies in their class and homework. They are also practical assessments over the course of the year as follows:
Autumn Term - Mouse on a Bus, a group mime and physical theatre performance (Competencies 1 and 2)
Spring Term - Blood Brothers, a paired scripted performance with written reflection (Competencies 1, 3 and 4).
A Monster Calls - An exploration of text and the process of devising. Students will demonstrate their learning through either the performance of a devised piece OR a scripted scene (Competencies 2, 3 and 4).
Summer Term - Romeo and Juliet (Stage Combat), Students will perform a fight scene choosing to use either Shakepeare's original language or a reinterpretation of the scene using modern slang (Competencies 1 and 3)
