Assessment

Learners show their progress against the competencies in their class and homework. There are also common assessments over the course of the year as follows:

Causation - Why did William win the Battle of Hastings
Significance - Is Simon Schama correct? At Hastings, was ‘one kind of England annihilated and another set up in its place’?
Source analysis and evaluation - medieval and modern explanations for the causes of the Black Death
Interpretation - How powerful were Medieval Kings?
Interpretation - Which artefact would you select for a Tudor museum?
Significance - Who contributed most to the Renaissance?

History and The Big Question

The course focus greatly on "How do we know what is true?" This question goes to the very heart of our subject - how do we piece together evidence in order to form a reliable picture of what we think happened in the past?
