Year 7 are encouraged to consider the question of ‘What shapes our identity?’ via The Adventure of English as well as the modern poetry anthology focusing on identity. Learners are encouraged to reflect on culture, language, geography, ethnicity, gender, age and the many other factors which shape us.
We also use The Village Project and our modern novel to consider the question of ‘How do we know what is true?’, considering how writers can shape our perceptions via language and structure choices.
