The school provides Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) on learning and work, embedded in programmes of study and off-timetable activities. CEIAG is delivered at all stages of students’ learning and by the complete range of staff. CEIAG aims to be inclusive and meet the needs of all students, including those who are disadvantaged.
The school has a discreet careers programme, with an embedded programme of CEIAG activities, including those which develop employability skills, encounters with employers and employees, experiences of workplaces, and encounters with Higher Education. Curriculum learning is also linked to careers, with each subject area responsible for careers through delivery of the curriculum.
Every student has opportunities for guidance interviews with our careers adviser. These are available and actively encouraged whenever significant study choices/transitions or career decisions are being made. Our careers adviser is able to provide advice on subject choice at GCSE and A-level, decisions on Higher Education and information on entering the world of work. Should you wish to book a careers appointment, please contact the Student Development Office (SDO).
