Punctuality and Lateness

Punctuality is an important habit to get into and arriving on time allows students to begin their day with a calm and prepared mindset.

We understand that there are occasionally valid reasons for late arrival and students who have genuine reasons will not be penalised for these. However, the same reason given on a regular basis, including traffic, will not be authorised. Please continue to report any absences or late arrivals to:

Year 7-11: attendance@challoners.org or by telephone 01494 787528. 

Year 12-13: sixth-form@challoners.org or by telephone 01494 787569. 

If a student arrives at school after 8.50am they should sign in with the Attendance Officer, and explain the reason. If the arrival is after 9.20am, when the register is closed, a parent/carer must confirm the reason in writing to avoid this being marked as an unauthorised absence.
