Dr Challoner's Grammar School sometimes has occasion to take photographs or make videos of students. These may be utilised in a number of ways which may include their publication on the school website, printed materials, wall-mounted displays and on school social media channels. Copies of their work may also be used in this way. In order to comply with the UK Data Protection Act 2018, we seek the permission of parents before recording and using such images.
All photographs and images of students will be taken and used in accordance with guidance which requires staff to exercise professional judgement regarding the suitability of images and their use. Archive copies of images may be retained for future reference.
We will always ask students before taking their photograph or making a video to ensure they consent. Parental consents may be withdrawn at any time. Please contact our Data Protection Officer, Mrs C. Atkinson (dpo@challoners.org) should you require any further information.
For the students’ own protection, all users of printing, copying and scanning devices should be aware of the CLA’s copyright guidelines and take these into consideration at all times. Details of the current licence held by DCGS can be found on the website in the Parents’ Handbooks section.
